Documentaries: Creative Outputs in an Interdisciplinary Leisure Studies
May 21, 2026
The latest episode of The Leisure Society Podcast turns to documentaries as creative outputs in interdisciplinary leisure studies, in a conversation with Dr Bryan Clift and Dr Felipe Bertazzo Tobar.
Professor Sandro Carnicelli of the World Leisure Journal hosts the discussion. Dr Felipe Tobar (Clemson University) is the producer of the documentary The Match that Not Every Club Wants to Play, while Dr Bryan Clift authored the Leisure Sciences essay “Parting Thoughts: What Do We Want to Count for the Field? Creative Outputs in an Interdisciplinary Leisure Studies.” Together they explore what counts as scholarly output and how creative formats can broaden the field.
