New Book: Climate Justice in Tourism

Climate Justice in Tourism, edited by Prof. Freya Higgins-Desbiolles, Prof. Raymond Rastegar, and Prof. Roshis Krishna Shrestha, has been published by Channel View Publications. The volume offers the first comprehensive exploration of climate justice in the tourism context.

The book critically examines how tourism both contributes to and is impacted by the climate crisis, and calls for more equitable, transformative responses that center historical responsibility, power relations, and the voices of communities most affected by climate change.

To introduce the key ideas in the book, James Higham has interviewed Prof. Freya Higgins-Desbiolles for the launch episode of Season 3 of his podcast 'Checking-In with James Higham'. The conversation gives a useful entry point to the volume's main themes for those who want to engage with the ideas before deciding to buy the book.
