Call for Papers: 4th One Belt, One Road, One Tourism International Conference (Second Call)

The 4th One Belt, One Road, One Tourism International Conference has issued a second call for papers. The conference centres on the theme of Development, Marketing, and Sustainability, with a particular focus on tourism research in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative. 11-13 December 2026 in Chiang Rai, Thailand.

The conference brings together researchers and practitioners from across tourism and related disciplines to address transformational questions in destination development, digital transformation, sustainable tourism, and the evolving role of geopolitics in shaping tourism markets. Submissions from a broad range of methodological and disciplinary perspectives are welcomed.

  2. 2 Tourism sustainability and ecotourism Sustainable tourism practices, ecotourism and biodiversity conservation, and tourism planning for long-term resilience.
  3. 3 Destination management and development Tourism planning and development, destination management, pro-poor tourism, and accessible and inclusive tourism.
  4. 4 Tourism marketing and consumer behaviour Tourism marketing strategy, tourist needs and motivations, and community-based tourism approaches.
  5. 5 Culture, heritage, and experience Cultural tourism, culinary tourism, wellness and health tourism, and event management.
  6. 6 Geopolitics, education, and human capital Tourism and geopolitics, tourism education, and human capital development in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative.
The conference welcomes contributions offering fresh insights, innovative perspectives, and practical implications for the advancement of tourism. Papers on other topics relevant to the conference theme are also welcome.
