Call for Papers – EMEA CHRIE 2026, Dubai, 9–12 November 2026

The EMEA CHRIE 2026 Annual Conference takes place in Dubai from 9 to 12 November 2026, hosted by Dubai College of Tourism at Mohammed bin Rashid Library, Al Jaddaf. The conference theme is Beyond the Map: Defining the Future of Tourism. Following strong interest from the global research community, the organising committee has extended the submission deadline to 20 June 2026.
The extended deadline applies to all submission types, including full papers, poster presentations, lecturer's lounge topics, and symposia. Papers are submitted via the ConftTool platform linked from the conference website. The templates available on the EMEA CHRIE 2026 website must be used for all submissions.
High-quality papers will be introduced to editors of partner journals should the authors wish to pursue publication. Partner journals include the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research (JHTR), the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Education (JHTE), the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Cases (JHTC), and the International Marketing Journal of Culture and Tourism.

Contributions may be submitted as full papers, poster presentations, lecturer's lounge topics, or symposia. All submissions must use the templates provided on the conference website.
- 1 Tourism marketing and the traveller journey Destination and brand image, digital marketing, data analytics, storytelling, and loyalty-building strategies across the full guest journey from inspiration to post-stay advocacy.
- 2 Events, experiences and place identity Cultural events, festivals, and mega-events: their economic, social, and reputational impacts, and their alignment with hospitality strategy and destination branding.
- 3 Talent, workforce and destination reputation Human capital, workforce development, leadership, education, vocational pathways, and talent retention as drivers of hospitality quality and long-term competitiveness.
- 4 Women, leadership and destination change Gender dynamics in hospitality and tourism, women's roles in leadership and entrepreneurship, gender equity, inclusive governance, and innovation outcomes.
- 5 Gastronomy, culture and destination identity Culinary tourism, food and beverage innovation, gastronomy branding, authenticity, heritage preservation, and the role of food in guest experience and destination differentiation.
- 6 Destination reputation, standards and assurance Hospitality quality frameworks, service design, guest satisfaction, experience management, and quality assurance systems that influence loyalty and brand credibility.
- 7 ESGs, accessibility and sustainable destinations Environmental, Social, and Governance principles and accessibility in hospitality and destination management, including sustainable operations, ethical practices, and inclusive service design.
