Call for Papers: 37th Annual CAUTHE Conference | Parramatta, 8–11 February 2027

The 37th Annual Council for Australasian Tourism and Hospitality Education (CAUTHE) Conference invites researchers and practitioners to submit full papers or extended abstracts. Hosted by Western Sydney University at its Parramatta City Vertical Campus and Parramatta South Campus in Parramatta, New South Wales, the conference runs from 8 to 11 February 2027 under the theme "Rethinking the Visitor Economy: Inclusive Futures for People, Place and Planet".

CAUTHE is the leading academic association for tourism, hospitality, and events education and research in Australasia, drawing academics, industry leaders, government representatives, and postgraduate researchers from across Australia, New Zealand, and the wider Asia-Pacific. The 2027 theme asks how tourism, hospitality, and events can contribute to more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable futures, and its sub-themes are aligned to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those concerning wellbeing, equity, sustainable communities, responsible consumption, climate action, strong institutions, and partnerships.

The programme also includes a PhD and Early Career Researcher workshop, a Teaching, Hospitality and Events Standards workshop, and Special Interest Group sessions.

Submission and key dates

Both full papers and extended abstracts are accepted, and submissions are made through the conference's online portal. The call opened on 1 July 2026, and a bursary and carer support scheme is available to assist eligible delegates. The conference is convened by Dr Willem Coetzee.
